Schoolsworks is a multi-academy trust in West Sussex. Our aim is to create small hubs of schools which work closely together to collaborate, share best practice and improve outcomes for children.

Rustington

PTA

Rustington Community Primary PTA welcomes you…

You may not realise but as a parent, as soon as your child joins Rustington, you automatically become a member of the Parent Teacher Association.

The PTA is a fun and sociable way to bring staff, parents, carers and children together in support of our school. Throughout the year we hold a range of events which raise funds but just as importantly, bring together our school community.  To stage our events we rely on the wonderful support of our parents and carers – no amount of time or gesture is too small or insignificant.

The Committee…

Our Committee is made up of several parents and staff members, and we have 4 officers: Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

We generally meet once every half term for full committee meetings, and closer to event dates we may have smaller team meetings as necessary.

How do we spend the money we raise?

We are committed to spend the money we raise on items and activities that will directly benefit the children.

We use the money raised by the PTA on resources for the children that otherwise we would be unable to afford. These resources always link to a school priority for improvement.

£10,000 was recently spent on books for the children. As the school started a new programme called Accelerated Reader which levels all books, even the independent reads. This money gave us the opportunity to replenish books throughout the school - when boxes full of new books were taken to classes the new authors and titles were devoured by the children :)

Then this year we spent £9000 on computing equipment for the new Multimedia room which is now equipped full of laptops, chrome books, ipads, a green screen and robotic equipment,

Our next target is to renew a section of the Trim Trail and then we aim to raise money for a school library - something unique that our children can enjoy - maybe a reading bus or a library room at the back of the school!

How can you be involved?

There are many ways in which you can be involved with the PTA. You don’t have to commit to meetings, or even come into school.

There are lots of little jobs that can be done from home such as wrapping presents or preparing raffle tickets.

If you are able to give us some of your time helping to set up our events, or an hour manning a stall at the Summer Fayre (Our 'Party in the Park') – it is gratefully received! Many hands really do make light work and above all else, it’s a great way to be involved in your child's school! Please do get in touch with us – your help, no matter how big or small is most welcomed.

You can leave your contact details with the school office FAO School Office Manager and they will be forwarded on to the relevant PTA member.
