Modern Foreign Language
At RCPS, our MFL curriculum aims to develop children’s confidence, curiosity, and passion for learning a foreign language.
Using the LanguageAngels scheme of work and resources in KS2, we intend to ensure we offer a solid foundation to children in their language learning journey.
We hope to inspire and excite our pupils using a wide variety of topics, as well as making links with our partner school in Barcelona, supporting our core values of respect, collaboration, communication and valuing each other.
Children will be given the opportunity to learn the four key language learning skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We will extend their knowledge of how language works and explore the similarities and differences between the foreign language they are learning and English. We will also help strengthen their sense of identity through learning about culture in other countries and comparing it with their own.
