Computing

Rustington CP School follows the Teach Computing programme of study. This is a high-quality computing education which prepares children for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world. We aim to broaden their knowledge of computing requirements in the workplace and to provide equal opportunities for all children to use ICT to communicate effectively and to become digitally literate.

Our curriculum focuses on a progression of skills in digital literacy, coding and information technology to ensure that children become competent in using and understanding technology. Through these three main strands of the computing curriculum, it supports our children developing computational, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

We passionately believe that everyone, wherever they are from, has a right to be safe online and that a safer internet is down to each one of us. Therefore, every computing lesson has an online safety starter to give them opportunities for discussion and make them think!
